I build functional assays that teach machines which cancer mutations actually matter using yeast genetics, human cancer genes and computational approaches. I am a Genome Scientist / Technologist by training. I recently completed my Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia. I did my undergraduate at Swinburne University of Technology.
Outside the lab I play the guitar and some keyboard. My musical influences are heavy metal, classic rock, grunge, R&B, and all the hits from the 90s that I grew up on. Here are some of my favourite albums that I enjoy listening to. I was a semi-professional under-17 footballer; the game time has since compressed to futsal courts and, more recently, to calisthenics.
